On 16 June 2021, during the General Assembly, European Consortium for Research Infrastructures (ERIC) for Extreme Light Infrastructure (ELI) took place. Lithuania is one of the founders of the so-called "laser CERN", the world's leading consortium of laser research infrastructures. The ELI ERIC consortium was established by Lithuania along with the founders of two international powerful laser centers in the Czech Republic and Hungary, which were later joined by Italy.

Light has significantly influenced our scientific understanding of the world. Learned to control it, humans now harness it for their own purposes. Light-related experiments and inventions are likely to draw huge public interest. Scientific studying of light will, no doubt, continue meaning many interesting discoveries and innovations are yet to emerge.

On 25 of November, the ELI-ALPS (Extreme Light Infrastructure Attosecond Light Pulse Source) facility and consortium between EKSPLA and Light Conversion, following continuing collaboration between three parties, signed a research and development contract for building a new laser system, called SYLOS3 for ELI-ALPS.

13th National Conference “Lasers: Science and Technologies” was held on August 25-26, 2017 onnecting our community.

The aim of this event was to share the most important news about products, technologies and latest scientific achievements.

This year the Conference gathered more than 700 participants including laser scientists and high-technology specialists from Lithuania and all around the world.

Presentations were delivered by well-known scientists from Auastralia, Spain, USA and representatives from the industry.

12th National Conference “Lasers: Science and Technologies” - the main annual event of Lithuanian laser and photonics community just passed. Traditionally the aim of this event was to share the most up-to-date news about products, technologies and latest scientific achievements.
This year the Conference gathered more than 500 bright minded people including laser scientists and high-technology specialists from Lithuania and all around the world including well-known scientists, pioneers of technologies, representatives from the industry as invited speakers.

Presentations were delivered by well-known scientists, pioneers of technologies and representatives from the industry. Together we celebrated the International Year of Light!

A Lithuanian consortium won one of the laser public procurement tenders of the ELI-ALPS facility in Szeged, Hungary. It was announced that the Lithuanian UAB „Ekspla” / UAB „Mokslinė-gamybinė firma „Šviesos konversija” consortium won the public procurement tender for the SYLOS laser system. The value of the contract and also of the laser system is more than EUR 4 million.
